scholarship_1Sales in the City is dedicated to supporting college students that are interested in pursuing a career in sales. We would like to provide those prospective sales stars with financial assistance to achieve their academic goals. Students that are serious and focused on a future career in sales should apply for an SITC scholarship or Internship. Applications are currently being accepted and reviewed for the current and upcoming school year. Finalists will be chosen among the applications that best meet the eligibility requirements. Ten SITC scholarships will be awarded each school year in two categories, Sales and Diversity. 5 SITC scholarships, under the SALES category are for any student meeting the critical requirements and interested in pursuing a career in sales subsequent to graduation. Five more SITC scholarships are available to candidates of diverse ethnic background and interested in pursuing a career in sales as well.

Scholarship Award Includes:

  •  $1,000 scholarship
  • Free SITC Premium Membership until one year after graduation
  • Interviews with select SITC National Conference Career Fair Companies
  • Free admission to the SITC National Conference & National Sales Career Forum™
  • Free career coaching while in college and until one year after graduation

SITC will review and make decisions on applications as they are received.


  1. All applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student at the time of application. Business majors are preferred; however, all majors will be considered. In this case your desire to pursue a career in sales and/or marketing is most important.
  2. Applicants must submit a current transcript showing proof of a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. An unofficial transcript is acceptable with the application. Official transcript will be required before scholarship is awarded.
  3. Applicants must submit a current copy of their resume.
  4. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendations. The letters may be from faculty members, advisors, or employment supervisors.
  5. Applicants must submit a minimum 300 word typed essay on one of the following topics:

Topic # 1 – Why do you feel sales is the right career for you?
Topic # 2 – What do you feel are the greatest challenges entering the world of corporate Sales and how you will handle them?
Topic # 3 – What traits do you believe make up the most effective sales representatives?

The following criteria increase chances of winning award:

  • Past or current sales experience
  • Past or current formal sales training
  • Past or current college internships
  • Taking college sales courses or major/minor curriculum
  • Taking part in any formal college sales competitions
  • Member of a college sports team

The SITC Diversity & Sales Scholarship provide funds to diverse college students that have demonstrated their pursuit of a career professional sales.

Critical requirements for candidates interested in receiving consideration for SITC diversity & sales scholarships are as follows:
Diverse ethnic group member through self-identification
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university for undergraduate or graduate studies.
Minimum undergraduate overall GPA of 3.0 or above

Many notable SITC corporate partners have full-time, part-time and summer PAID internships available to qualifying students. Internships are important for several reasons such as providing a fundamental introduction to the world of sales, gaining much needed and essential sales training and exposure as well as establishing key business contacts that will prove very valuable as you progress through your sales career.
